OK so like 10 years ago I was an active member of the video game remix community OverClocked Remix. This was in the community’s formative years, when video game remixes were more about “hey I know that game, I loved that game!” and less about “well, the arpeggio could have been used more effectively at the 0:56 mark, it’s too washed out by the didgeridoo sounds…” I put in a few (bad) remixes of games that, later on in the site’s life, got taken down as standards and the definition of a “remix” went up. Around 2002-2003 I fell out of interest with the novelty of it and moved on. Cut to today, I decide “ah what the heck, i’ll use www.bing.com to see what my name pulls up and this website comes up, touting a remix by me that… well, quite plainly, I never did.
Turns out this is actually a parody website (the videogame remix community is historically known for that) and somehow my name got into the mix. Funny :P
that most punk/pop/rock bands that have twenty somethings in them have like a 30 year old bassist, that usually has a distinct look (gnarly beard, octopus tattoo, mesh shirt)
i guess if I ever wanna rock out, I should start learning that instrument, my window for guitar closed, unless I want to rock out to adult contemporary (wooooooo!!)
